Catlan Samuels grew up in upstate New York and now lives near Lake Ontario in the Finger Lakes wine region—tucked beside a forest where Mill Creek spills into the lake.

A father of two successful sons and partner to the ever-adventurous Peggy, Catlan finds inspiration in family, love, and the open road. Together they’ve explored North America from coast to coast and far beyond—each journey fueling the pulse of his JOURNEY trilogy.

Like his characters, Catlan’s life is an expedition. From hiking with mountain goats in Montana, walking on Canadian glaciers to standing on the Norse ruins of his ancestors in Newfoundland, every trek finds its echo in his stories of love and discovery.
