Bob Swain

Bob Swain is a writer of fiction, non-fiction, children's stories and journalism. He has worked successfully in all media - print, online, television and cinema - as well as enjoying spells as a teacher, lecturer and tour guide. As a specialist journalist he was one of the leading experts in the world on the technology and business of animation before going on to script major animation series such as Zombie Hotel and Norman Normal as well as feature films such as Santa's Magic Crystal. A feature film of his children's novel Timbuktu is now in development.

But above all, it is travel and adventure that have informed his work, with his novel Blood On The Mekong researched during long periods in South-East Asia and extensive African travel resulting in guides for Bradt Publications. Africa has continued to call throughout his life - including the year-long drive from Brighton to Dar Es Salaam chronicled in Tracks Across Africa.
