Nancy DeYoung

Nancy DeYoung’s love of writing began in second grade and never wavered. After high school, she attended college, majoring in communication, and that was where she met her husband, who received his degree in civil engineering. During their seventeen years of marriage, they had three daughters and lived and traveled to many cities and countries. After the children were grown and the husband was out of the picture, Nancy continued her travels.

Ms. DeYoung worked for a real estate development company for eight years. She later co-wrote Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) manuals for a fabrication company. Nancy is an avid journal writer and taught "Get a Grip: Get a Journal" classes for many years. She had four papers published in the International Association of New Sciences Proceedings. Her articles have appeared online and in many magazines. She has published four books: Modern Shamans, The Girl in the Tent: Memoir from the Road, I Matter, and Not My Dog.

Nancy says, "I have always written and always will because there is so much to say. There may be a limited number of words in the English language, but there are a gazillion ways to put them together."
