Rhys Darby is an actor, writer, podcaster and stand-up comedian from Aotearoa New Zealand.
While best known as an actor from shows like Our Flag Means Death and Flight of the Conchords, Rhys is also a standup comic with a penchant for the weird. His podcast, The Cryptid Factor is all about cryptozoology.
In 2012 Rhys released his first book, This Way to Spaceship, “A loosely autobiographical end of world companion” in 2012. It was number 1 in the international charts for 7 weeks. He also released this as a standup special.
Rhys went on to write 3 children’s books for his son, a “reluctant reader” about a young boy on amazing adventures, the Buttons McGinty series.
In between his huge adventures Darby is based in Los Angeles with his family where they like to hike, eat tacos and explore the world.
