Andrea Gardiner

Andrea Gardiner grew up in Kent, UK, before heading to Edinburgh to study medicine. She trained as a General Practitioner in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, and along the way completed a degree in Theology. In 2005 she left her homeland behind her and set off to Ecuador to work as a missionary doctor in Santo Domingo de los Tsachilas. Her adventures there inspired her to write her first book, Guinea Pig for Breakfast.

Andrea set up a charity in Ecuador, through which she allowed hundreds of children to be sponsored through their education, built housing for the poor, and ran a village health centre.

In 2017 she returned to Scotland with her family, where she continues to work as a family doctor, and is studying psychology and trauma-informed care.

She loves to write and is passionate about spirituality, feminism, transformation and healing.
