Mr Glen E. Drake

The Author: Glen Drake

My family tradition flows from ranching and retail trade in a small Midwest town. I went to school, became a Congressional Secretary, a college teacher, and a healthcare administrator. I am involved in Toastmasters International, an organization that cultivates public speaking and leadership.

I am a member of Lions Club International, and the St. Joseph Traffic Commission. I also belong to an investment club. I have been a Red Cross volunteer from time to time and served as a library trustee. I play golf and tennis and fly small aircraft.

When I retired from healthcare, I started traveling and writing. I have always enjoyed telling an amusing story, and I read novels, historical fiction, and scholarly history for fun.

My book Modern Midwest Folklore is an anthology of ten short stories. I am currently working on a novel about a soldier in World War II, a novelette about an old farmer, and a historical novel about an English seafaring merchant in the sixteenth century.
