Parker Francis

Parker Francis is the pen name of award-winning author Victor DiGenti, whose fiction ranges from hard-edged mysteries and suspense to stories of the strange, unexpected, and sometimes unsettling.

As Parker Francis, he is the author of the Quint Mitchell Mystery series, featuring a Florida private investigator with a talent for finding trouble—or having it find him. The series began with Matanzas Bay, set in historic St. Augustine, followed by Bring Down the Furies and Hurricane Island. The novels have earned multiple awards while taking readers from Florida’s oldest city to the backroads of South Carolina and the islands of Florida’s Gulf Coast.

His latest book, Every Living Thing: Eight Stories of Mystery, Loss & Redemption, ventures into different territory. The collection brings together eight stories in which ordinary lives take decidedly unexpected turns—sometimes mysterious, sometimes dark, occasionally humorous, and often touched by the unexplained.

Francis is also the author of Ghostly Whispers, Secret Voices, winner of a Silver Medal in the Florida Authors & Publishers President’s Book Awards. His award-winning story “The Strange Case of Lord Byron’s Lover” also appeared in The Prometheus Saga, an anthology featuring twelve award-winning authors.

Writing as Victor DiGenti, he created the award-winning Windrusher trilogy, adventure fantasies featuring a feline protagonist that attracted readers of all ages. Away from fiction, DiGenti has spent more than a decade as a professional ghostwriter and biographer, helping people turn their lives and family histories into books. He also assists other authors through his independent imprint, Windrusher Hall Press.

Before becoming a full-time writer, he spent much of his career in public broadcasting in Northeast Florida as a producer, director, reporter, fundraiser, and producer of the Jacksonville Jazz Festival.

Parker—aka Vic—and his wife live in Northeast Florida with their rescued cats, who graciously allow them to share the house as long as the food bowls remain full and the litter boxes clean.
