Riaz Hussain is a PhD (Linguistics) scholar at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Pakistan. He has been teaching English in Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates. He has represented Pakistan at international conferences in Egypt and Albania. He has written about the phenomenon of pidginization in the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf and the therapeutic powers of Rumi's poetry.He has also written about the application of the Web technologies in foreign language teaching.He worked as a researcher in a public survey on Abu Dhabi Police conducted by the United Arab Emirates University. He did his M.Phil in Applied Linguistics and Masters in English language and literature. His research interests includes Applied Linguistics, sociolinguistics, semiotics, Discourse Analysis,inner speech, language and power and language conflicts in the world.
