Max Cates is a nationally recognized sales leader and award-winning author of three sales management books, his latest being: SERVE, LEAD, SUCCEED! HOW SERVANT LEADERS ARE REACHING BREAKTHROUGH SALES.
Cates has 37 years of sales and marketing experience with Fortune 500 companies including AT&T, United Telecommunication and Associated Electric. He also served as a sales management professor at Webster University, teaching graduate-level courses. A graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism with a Master of Arts degree, Cates is also a graduate of the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania, Executive Development, and has a B.S. degree from Missouri State University.
Cates also founded the non-profit association, Servant Leaders in Sales, which provides materials and mentorship to those interested in Servant Leader practices and success stories.
His first two books, TEAM POWER and SEVEN STEPS TO SUCCESS FOR SALES MANAGERS demonstrate how sales managers can inspire and motivate their sales people through simple, yet effective practices such as empowerment, team-building, rep involvement and continuous improvement.
