Monica Phillips

Monica Phillips was born in Columbia, South Carolina in 1974 to African-American parents, where she grew up and spent most of her adult life. In 1999, she relocated to Altamonte Springs, Florida, and later moved to Apopka, Florida.

She began writing at the age of 16 and has only now begun to publish her works. She holds a degree in English, with an emphasis on Creative Writing. Her first book is a children's book based on her experiences with her own sons. "Nathaniel, Wake Up! is part of the series "Nathaniel & Nicholas". She is currently working on a political piece, a book of poetry, and a novel.

She has been married for 10 years to her husband Rodney and they have two sons. When not writing, she enjoys cooking, shopping, and traveling.
