Dan L. Ward

Dan L. Ward is Chief Workforce Economist for RevTek Solutions. Semi-retired, he was previously Special Advisor - Talent Solutions for NASA, where he helped NASA shape the workforce needed to send the first woman and next man to the Moon. Earlier, he served as the Chief Workforce Economist for the MITRE Corporation - a not-for-profit, where he provided strategic workforce planning and analytics advice and counsel to a variety of U.S. government agencies.

Prior to starting his public service career, Dan held senior level roles in HR, Knowledge Management, and Strategic Planning at GTE, Texaco, and EDS. He started his career as a management scientist conducting workforce simulation studies for AT&T/Western Electric and Bell Labs. Dan received a Lifetime Achievement Award from HR People & Strategy for four decades of pioneering contributions to people strategy.

Ward's cost-benefit studies on alternate staffing strategies have been cited in Fortune, Business Week, the Wall Street Journal, the Work in America Institute, etc. He is the senior editor of AMACOM's 2013 book: Positioned: Strategic Workforce Planning that Gets the Right Person in the Right Job and was the senior editor of HRPS's Best Practices in Human Resource Forecasting and Modeling (1994.) He is an award-winning photographer and has published several photography books.
