Barbara Altman, “The Author of Hope,” is a speaker, teacher, and author. When speaking, she encourages audiences with real-life stories from her books and her life’s journey.

When readers and listeners hear her, they learn that anyone can find fulfillment no matter what he or she have experienced. She speaks on topics of success, hope, and positive mental health. Along with being a speaker and her primary work of running a successful music studio, Barbara writes a blog for those who need encouragement.
Barbara resides in Webster Groves, Missouri and from there she has traveled to speak on mental health issues at several mental health facilities and Universities. Altman is the author of Hope Shines Eternal, and Passages of Hope.
She is a member of Grace World Toastmaster’s Club. She does presentations for all kinds of groups that need a word of hope and encouragement for their members. She has also presented at National Alliance for the Mentally Ill and at the Ethical Society on Mental Health Issues.
In her book, Passages of Hope, readers read a weekly success story, and develop an action plan for their life. Stories are from the lives of luminaries such as Maya Angelou, Henry Ford, and Oprah Winfrey. The stories also illustrate the life events of people from everyday walks of life who have found hope in the midst of trials.
Altman’s believes that part of experiencing a rich, fulfilling life involves finding hope in every area of life, including in their health, relationships, and career.
