Joseph Edwards

Joseph Edwards is a lifelong poet and writer whose work weaves together the lyrical, the philosophical, and the spiritual. His début novel, Sanctified, appeared in 2013. His latest poetry collection, Homodeus: An Introduction to the Ineffable, represents the apex of his poetic journey—superseding his earlier volume Sixty Years of Poems by Joe—and invites readers into a deep meditation on mystery, divinity, and the human condition. His novel The Archbishop of Appalachia continues this journey through storytelling, capturing the complex interplay between belief, doubt, and the rhythms of rural life. Educated across Europe and the U.S., Edwards holds degrees from the University of Lyon, the University of Toledo (JD), and the University of Brussels (LLM), and has conducted extensive studies at the University of Lausanne and UNC-Chapel Hill. He lives and writes on a farm near Cookeville, Tennessee, where he also practices federal criminal law.
