Shaun Abrahamson

Shaun Abrahamson co-founded Third Sphere in 2013, after two decades of very early stage investing and operating roles that included MediaSentry, later part of Thales, and govWorks, the company in the documentary Startup dot com. Third Sphere has backed more than 100 companies building physical things, among them Onewheel, Revivn, Mill, Robot and Wasted.

His first book, Crowdstorm, was about working with large online crowds. His second, Speedstrap, examines how founders grow companies quickly while giving away far less ownership than the standard venture path assumes.

He has written for The Economist Intelligence Unit and holds an MSc from the MIT CADLab. He grew up in Cape Town and lives in Los Angeles with his wife, the artist Andrea Nhuch. When he isn't working with founders he's usually wrenching, or voiding warranties, with his sons Max and Oli.
