Born in Germany, Mike family moved to the NYC metro area in his early childhood. He was raised religiously nominal, but Christian faith took root in his life as a teenager through a church he started to attend with his mother. After graduating from Messiah College with a BA in Religion, he did Masters of Divinity work at Evangelical Seminary. He served on a church plant team and then went on to be a youth pastor spanning 26 years in three churches.
In 2012 Mike joined Liberti Church in Philadelphia to serve as the launch pastor for the newly forming campus and executive pastor for this 2 campus church. As the executive pastor, Mike was responsible for staff care, strategic and directional leadership, leadership development, and assisting with preaching and pastoral care. He oversaw the purchase and renovation of an historic church building and organized and wrote the business plan for Philadelphia’s, 2200 Arch Counseling Services. In 2016 he created a new nonprofit to foster collaboration between churches working with the poorest and most marginalized, named For The City Collaborative. In 2017 Mike began doing full-time consulting for nonprofit organizations and coaching and mentoring for pastors and leaders of nonprofits. Since 2017 Mike has served as the President of Concentric (concentric global.org), a global mission organization the equip ministry leaders in Jesus Centric disciplemaking strategies.
Mike’s been involved in ministry in 30 foreign countries, and served on a number nonprofit boards including Sonlife Ministry Leadership Council; Atlantic Bridge Netherlands YFC; UBC Youth Task Force. During Mike’s 30 year tenure, he was the catalyst for the formation of several area youth networks.
Mike has contributed to several periodicals, coauthored a book on youth ministry and authored a book on youth mentoring relationships.
He and his wife Teresa live in the Philadelphia suburbs with three children, Nathan, Lauren and Arianna. Mike’s wife Teresa works for the American Bible Society.
