Ruth Marcus grew up in southern Wisconsin, spent thirty years in San Francisco and Marin County as an entrepreneur in the graphic arts industry. Steeped in knowledge of design, typography and self-publishing, Ruth wrote one-line daily "encouragements" for a national email audience. Her book "Inspiration" is a collection of 365 of her "best-written" over seven years.
With a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology and a Doctorate Degree in Religious Studies, Ruth has counseled, taught and held workshops. She has a background in Hospice Grief Counseling, Inservice Trainings, and Public Speaking.
For seven years, Ruth was a columnist for the Sequim Gazette and Living on the Peninsula. Her essays have been published in Northwest Magazine. A collection of these essays are published in "Good Grief: 58 Ways to Manage Your Life" (soft-bound, 2020).
Currently, Ruth writes poetry, short stories, hosts writing salons and assists writers in publishing. She lives in the Pacific Northwest, on the Olympic Peninsula.
