“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things.” Philipians 4:8

I am particularly inspired by these words from the Apostle Paul. It’s easy to fall prey to the prattling and cynical discussion of the globe around us. Things true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent or praiseworthy shall be my goal and I will make every effort to think (and write) in a constructive manner using those virtues.

Let me begin by stating I have a wonderful wife and four incredible children. My beautiful bride is the love of my life. She is a brilliant companion and muse sharing in all my endeavors. The two elder children are married to magnificent spouses whom I love and I couldn’t be more thankful for. The two younger daughters are an inspiration to my life! I have one beautiful granddaughter and two grandsons. I have two marvelous parents whom I thank God for everyday and an amazing network of family and friends that are true gifts and inspirations!

As with any individual, sometimes one wishes they could rewrite portions of life over in an effort to better script choices they’ve made. For the most part I find very little I might rework. As Fernand Mondego said to Edmond Dantes in “The Count of Monte Cristo”, “Yours is truly a blessed life, Edmond!” I can account for this in no other way than the grace and favor of God.

And so, knowing full well those famous words of Shakespeare, “brevity is the soul of wit” here I shall end for a season. My passion is to consider values, insights, and gleanings that have inspired my soul over the past 50+ years upon this earth. Not that I have anything new or revelatory to contribute, but if these words help one soul traverse a difficult journey, then anything written has its worth. So this is the beginning and until next time–
