Cynthia Mills

Cynthia Mills spent much of her childhood reading books about times and places faraway. She studied in Germany while earning her Bachelor's degree in Music and German from Lake Erie College, then went on to earn a Master's Degree in Education from Cleveland State University. Marriage to an Englishman resulted in living in England for several years, where she began to pursue writing in earnest, selling articles to magazines such as Memory Lane. Upon returning to the United States, Cynthia wrote articles for the Cleveland Plain Dealer and the Sunday Magazine.

A keen interest in historical research, particularly the Edwardian and World War One eras, led her to discover the tragic story of two English brothers and their individual fates during World War One. Several trips to the battlefields of the Great War cemented the desire to write about this era, resulting in the trilogy that includes Missing, Believed Killed; Bring the Dead to Life; and Bind Up Your Broken Hearts.

A mystery lover, Cynthia combined her love for the Edwardian era and sleuthing to create Eleanor Eaton, an amateur detective, in Long Buried Secrets. Her love of cold cases resulted in her next mystery, The Pretty Girls Club Murder.

Along with her fiction work, Cynthia has extensive experience working in the career services field. The recent recession and its effects on senior workers led her to write Losing Your Job Over 50 and Why it can be the Best Thing that ever Happened to YOU! The handbook is chock full of real-world tips that can help a senior worker make decisions about future career options.

Cynthia lives in Mentor, Ohio,and enjoys writing, playing the violin, listening to vintage music, and travelling. History and World War One are subjects in which she has a great interest, along with mysteries, research, and helping others achieve their dreams through career exploration.
