Sam Ford

Sam Ford works on models, strategies, and implementation for media innovation, audience engagement, cultural intelligence, and storytelling experimentation. He has provided these services to a wide range of organizations, from ViacomCBS/Simon & Schuster, Univision’s Fusion Media Group, and MIT to Lowe’s Hardware, WNYC, and the strategic communications firm Peppercomm.

Sam serves as executive director of AccelerateKY, a Knight News Innovation Fellow with Columbia University’s Tow Center for Digital Journalism, a research affiliate with MIT Comparative Media Studies/Writing, and an instructor in WKU’s Department of Communication.

Sam co-authored Spreadable Media: Creating Value and Meaning in a Networked Culture. He is also co-editor of the 2010 book The Survival of Soap Opera: Transformations for a New Media Era. He has published more than 25 academic essays on media, pop culture, and fandom.
