J P Lomas

J.P. Lomas lives and teaches in London. A former writer of educational revision guides, he has now turned to a life of crime. He was also one of the judges of the ALCS award for Educational Writing in 2016 and felt very privileged to have been chosen to help decide this important award.

His first book came out in 2012 and was a murder mystery set against the backdrop of Mrs Thatcher's years in power - 'The Maggie Murders'.

In 2013, 'Special Measures' became the first in a series of books featuring Unlucky 13. 13 is a team of detectives formed to add a diplomatic touch when investigating crimes with royal, celebrity or political links.

It was followed by 'Whodunnit' in 2014; a thriller set at a Doctor Who convention in the Scottish Highlands. 'Murder at Her Majesty's Pleasure' was the third in the series in 2015; a thriller in which 13 are sent to investigate why Britain's most notorious killers are being murdered behind bars. 'The House of Russian Dolls' is book 4 and follows the investigation into the death of a Russian supermodel in London.The latest thriller is 'Unholy Orders' in which the team investigates the death of a bishop which has a link to an historical murder. Their personnel have changed from case to case, although a core of recurring characters have emerged.
