Elle Benet

Elle Benet lived in a cult for the first 18 years of her life. After a failed marriage, Benet began a journal about being raised in a cult and the life challenges that followed after she escaped, which included a miscarriage, divorce and a foreclosure. As a way of healing, she began searching for the positive that could be gleaned from her adversities. Years later, Benet converted her journal into a memoir as she wanted to inspire others to realize there is no goal too distant that one cannot achieve. Benét currently resides in Washington D.C with her two children. 'They Made Me Do It' is her first book.
