Sharon A. Lavy

Sharon A. Lavy has been a member of American Christian Fiction Writers for many years and was awarded the coveted ACFW Member Service Award in 2008.

She is the author of novels: Dreaming Of A Father's Love and Sometimes We Have To Forgive The Unforgivable series. Her non-fiction includes Adult Coloring books and colorful annual weekly planners.

Sharon was born in Modesto, California to an Old German Baptist family. This Anabaptist group is a conservative part of the Church of the Brethren and, they are often mistaken for Amish.

While Sharon was growing up her father went to pre-med in Palo Alto California and then medical school at George Washington University. He interned and took his residency at a hospital in Sacramento, California. Her father had to stay at the hospital and work or was on call every other weekend. The family would visit the hospital on those weekends and Sharon remembers walking through the halls and grounds.

At that time there was only one other practicing Medical Doctor in the Old German Baptist Brethren Church.

She inherited her love of books from her father and when she wasn't exploring the hospital where he worked, Sharon spent many hours poring over his medical books.

When she married, Sharon moved with her husband to a farm in Southwest Ohio where they reared five children.

While she loves to read many genres, her fiction writing tends to feature medical drama, and some of her characters come from the Old German Baptist community. Family dynamics are also an important part of her stories.
