I'm a rare bird - a native New Yorker. Born in the heart of New York City, on a small strip of land now called Roosevelt Island. From there I was taken to a section called Yorkville, which begins around 65th Street, extends north to 96th Street, and stretches east to west from York Avenue to Lexington Avenue. I spent my early youth on those streets, first on 70th Street - how exciting the neighborhood was back then! The entire street between York and First Avenues was just like a small town, with every kind of "mama & papa" store. You knew everyone on the block, and of course, had the best of friends. And best of all, if we got tired of playing in the street, we always had Central Park; we considered it our own backyard. I was passionate about all things, and it wasn't long before I developed a love for performing; first joining our local church group, The Park Avenue Players, and by my middle teens, modeling and appearing in Off-Off, Off, and then ON Broadway shows. By the late sixties, I began to get television roles, and it was my good fortune to land a role in the most exciting Gothic Daytime Drama, "Dark Shadows". In fact, it turned out to be several roles because each time I got "killed", they'd cast me in a new and different character. Many shows, adventures, and trips followed and in "On Stage & In Shadows", I've reconstructed my journey through New York and the country and on stage and in Dark Shadows.
