Kevin Ahern

Kevin Ahern is a Senior Instructor of Biochemistry/Biophysics at Oregon State University and also the university's Director for Undergraduate Research. He is the creator of the popular Metabolic Melodies, which he uses to teach the subject of biochemistry to his students. There are many YouTube videos of Kevin lecturing in biochemistry and singing Metabolic Melodies. In 2012, he made a resolution to write a limerick for every day of the year and met his goal. There are several books produced as a result of his creative endeavors on Amazon. They include the “The Splendidest Ever Metabolic Melodies” song book and "Limerick a Day For a Year.”. He also wrote a history book for his hometown in rural Illinois (200 people). It is also on Amazon and is called "From Rails to Roads: The Story of Fowler, Illinois." In 2000, Kevin was a co-author on “Biochemistry,” published by Addison Wesley (Pearson). More recently Kevin has also produced an electronic book called "Biochemistry Free and Easy" that he gives away. Later in 2013, Kevin plans to release a new book entitled "Kevin and Indira's Guide to Getting Into Medical School."
