Derek Hembree

Derek has always enjoyed travel and adventure so when his best friend and co-author Clint Lanier approached him with the idea of sharing American's culturally and historically significant bars with the world, he was all in.

Growing up a military brat Derek's sense of adventure and travel was developed at a young age. Living in places like Italy and Australia as well as all over the United States there was always a new place to discover or a new adventure to be had.

After graduating from High School he proceeded to squeeze four years of college into 6, aided by a few changes in majors and maybe a little too much time enjoying the local watering holes, and completed his Bachelors in Finance at New Mexico State University.

When not traveling and looking for the next Bucket List Bar, Derek enjoys spending time with family and friends, downhill skiing, surfing when he can get to the ocean, and traveling to all corners of the globe.

To keep a roof over his head, food in his belly, and money in the bank for travel and adventures Derek is a commodity trader at a utility in Albuquerque New Mexico.
