Betsy Ashton

Betsy Ashton, born in Washington, DC, was raised in Southern California where she ran wild with coyotes in the hills above Malibu, although her mother disputes this. She is the author of three novels in the Mad Max Mystery series, UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES, UNCHARTED TERRITORY, and UNSAFE HAVEN. Her suspense novel about a female serial killer, EYES WITHOUT A FACE, has won critical acclaim. OUT OF THE DESERT, a family life story set in the Mojave Desert, has become a book club favorite and received a 2022 Firebird Book Award for coming-of-age. Her latest, BETRAYAL, is a suspense novel which begins with a crash of a jet involved in a flyover at the Army-Navy game. Betrayal also won the 2022 Firebird Book Award for Suspense, as well as the 2023 Independent Press Award Distinguished Favorite Certificate for suspense.

In her spare time when she isn't writing novels, she's active in local writers' groups and is the past president of The Virginia Writers Club. Some of her friends know her as Buckshot Betsy. You'll have to ask her how she got that nickname.
