Warren Dittmar grew up in the Bronx and overcame educational challenges after an injury left him unable to attend grade school, then dropping out of high school, eventually attending The New School of Social Research. He went on to become a professor of English. He has been a professional photographer for many years and enjoys the magic of capturing a really good image -- as much as he enjoys reading and teaching. Currently living in Hollywood, Fla., and father to five children, he is proud to have come from being disabled to walking again, from being a high school dropout to receiving a bachelor’s, master’s, and soon, a Ph.D. and having overcome poverty. He remains intensely enthusiastic, curious, and filled with a sense of joy and beauty. His future goals are to write another book, to influence education in a more positive direction where learning is more important than test scores, and to complete his research project for his doctorate.
