Angela Bowen PhD

Angela Bowen, PhD is an accomplished writer, speaker, scholar and teacher. She is the recipient of many awards for her contribution to the arts, activism across race, gender and sexuality, feminism and scholarship. A Boston native, she recently retired from the Dept. of Women's Studies at California State University, Long Beach. Bowen received a writing grant from the Money for Women/Barbara Deming Memorial Fund for Aleta's Stories.

She is the subject of a new film, The Passionate Pursuits of Angela Bowen.
