Michael Hill

For over forty years, Michael Hill was research assistant to Pulitzer Prize winning author and historian, David McCullough.

He is also the author of "Elihu Washburne," a biography of the American Minister to France during the Siege and Commune of Paris (Simon and Schuster 2012) and "War Poet" (2014), about the life of World War I poet Alan Seeger who penned the famous war poem, “I Have a Rendezvous With Death.”

He won an Emmy in 1991 for his work as a co-producer on the PBS “Civil War" series narrated by David McCullough. He also served as a historical consultant on the HBO mini-series, “John Adams" produced by Tom Hanks; the ABC-TV docu-drama "Challenger" about the 1986 space shuttle disaster produced by George Englund; and a creative advisor on the PBS American Experience documentary, “Race to the Moon” about the Apollo 8 space mission to the moon.

Hill lives in Virginia and is currently at work on a collection of fictional short stories.
