James Vint has been an offensive, defensive, and special teams coordinator at the high school and college levels. He has been on the forefront of development of new concepts, and is a trusted resource for coaches at all levels of football. He is considered one of the go to coaches in regards to the pistol, option football, RPO's, and building culture and developing character.
In 2019, his offense put up nearly 6,000 yards, with over 3,400 yards on the ground and over 2,500 yards through the air. In 2018, they put up over 5,000 yards of offense, averaging over 8 yards per carry on the ground. Coach Vint has helped several schools install the pistol and spread offenses, including three schools that won state titles.
As a defensive coordinator, Coach Vint took over a defense that had given up over 40 points a game and led them to six shutouts. They gave up just 6 points a game and posted a school record 98 tackles for loss in the regular season. His version of the odd stack is being used at high schools and colleges across the country.
Vint is a widely sought after clinic speaker, speaking at Nike Coach of the Year Clinics, Glazier Clinics, and several state coaching association clinics. He has published 20 coaching videos and two books on the pistol offense with Coaches Choice. In 2016 Coach Vint released the his newest two books, Using Multiple Tempos to Keep the Defense Off Balance and Installing Explosive RPO Concepts Into Any Offense.
In addition to speaking at clinics on football strategies, Vint also speaks to organizations on character, culture, and leadership. He has a passion for Christ, and recently wrote his first book on his Christian walk, called Finding Faith. Vint enjoys sharing his testimony, and speaking to groups about unleashing their full potential. He recently published his fifth book, called Finding Faith. He is a frequent guest on a variety of podcasts from throughout the world.
He consults for high school and college programs throughout the country, and including several state championship programs.
