He has an A.B. from Columbia University and two years' Army service, including nine months in the India-Burma Theater. He met and courted his wife Jean at the campus radio station at Columbia. Durham spent most of his working life as a journalist in the Springfield, Mass., area with Radio Stations WSPR and WHYN, Channel 40 Television, and Turley Publications' community weeklies, the Ludlow Register and the Wilbraham-Hampden Times. His first foray into fiction was the magazine format Cape Cod ghost story novella, "The House at the Cliffs" (1997). This was followed by two novels, the historical romance "Tumultuous Affairs" (2009) and the unusual look into small-town family life, "Betty Sue's Homecoming" (2012), both of which are available through amazon.com. Humorous situations, suspense, and saucy love affairs are common ingredients. Durham's latest publication is the laugh-packed novella "An Unusual Arrangement" (2013).
