I didn't become a writer until I reached the age of 84 when I purchased a computer. I believe anyone who ever, during his or her lifetime, had a desire to write a book one has have a computer with word processing features. I don't believe I could have written a book without one. I managed to write and Illustrate a book for children titled "King of the Ball" and a mystery novel titled "Gifted." I first published "Gifted" on Kindle only to discover that there were over 20 books on Kindle with the same title. So, I changed title to "Murder at Our Lady of Sorrows" hoping that would attract more attention than "Gifted," which is quite boring in comparison.
I still don't consider myself as a writer, or a writer who is getting paid to write. My background was art with a degree from Michigan State University back in 1951. Of course I couldn't make a living painting and I eventually become a film animator and production designer. My working days as an animator have long since passed me by since the computer has taken over. Free lance animation pretty much dried up for me about 12 years ago. That's when I started writing and I guess it's become more of a hobby for me because I don't depend on it to make a living at it. However, it would be nice if that were to become a reality. As for writing, I think I have something to say. When I wrote "Murder at Our Lady of Sorrows," there was a lot of me in it reflecting my days as a student going through a Catholic High School in Michigan.
