Stephen V Ramey

Stephen V. Ramey was born July 18, 1957 in Montrose, Colorado, and spent his formative years in Monroeville, Pennsylvania writing/editing underground publications such as The Adventures of Peaches Pomidoodle, and the pun-laden Sir Gut. An avid bowler, he spent much of his free time in the gutters at Monroe Bowl, or keeping score behind benches awash in spilled beer and shattered cigarettes (Yeah, he was supposed to clean that up...). Through nobody's fault, he obtained a BS in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and eventually took his pilgrimage to Houston. Several years of tenuous Project Engineering, and a jaunt to northern Syria helped motivate him to pursue a different path. Writing it was. Writing it would be. Through all the years of hardware stores, book stores, and nonprofits, he has never stopped. His literary work now appears in venues such as Pure Slush, Nib Magazine, The Journal of Compressed Creative Arts, and his speculative fiction has found a home in Daily Science Fiction, Strange Horizons, and Isotropic Fiction, among others. In 1992, he married multi-talented Susan Urbanek Linville, and became stepfather to a wonderful little girl (now a wonderful big girl). When he's not writing or reading, he's not worth a damn.
