Mike Meldrum

Mike first discovered that he was in marketing when he went to study for his MBA in 1984. This showed him that his previous jobs had, in fact, been marketing roles and that although he'd been successful, he would have been even better if known something about the discipline. Following the MBA, he joined the faculty at Cranfield School of Management in the UK and taught marketing on their MBA and Executive programmes for a number of years.

This led to his first publications: various editions of a marketing text book with the latest being ‘The Complete Marketer’.

His interest in what makes marketing effective in organisations led him into explorations of marketing management, and then management in general, of which leadership is clearly a fundamental aspect. Over nearly 40 years of working with senior managers from many different organisations and industries, Mike accumulated a wealth of experience, which enabled the creation of a novel about the issues leaders face in their pursuit of effective management. The novel: ‘The Deadly Sins of Leadership’, will hopefully act as a prompt to better leadership from its readers.
