I grew up in Denmark in the 60s and 70s, with my parents and 3 sisters. My parents had a dog kennel - Kennel Tais - with up to 150 Golden Retrievers which they bred and sold in Denmark and across Europe. In addition to the Golden Retrievers we had a wonderful Mastiff, some Beagles and Labrador Retrievers and occasional other breeds that we took in for training.
I was fortunate to travel to England and much of Europe in the late 60s and to Egypt and Lebanon for almost a year in the early 70s, learning to appreciate other cultures and the diversity of human settlements and civilization.
In the late 70's I moved to England and then to the United States in the early 80s, landing in Florida for a few years. Work took me to Los Angeles for a decade, and we then moved to Washington DC for 7 years and then returned to the Tampa Bay area just before the turn of the millennium.
Clearwater is my home now, with my fabulous wife Pamela. We enjoy having most of our children and grandchildren close by and visiting often.
I run a software company and several businesses selling products online, and help many others become successful with online marketing and sales as well.
In 2012 while driving through Iowa with my mother, we came across two small towns settled by Danes, and saw a copy there of Denmark's famous Little Mermaid statue. Surprised at seeing one there, I started researching locations of mermaid statues, and found out that the subject was both fascinating and virtually unknown.
Thus a hobby was born, which led to the website and blog MermaidsOfEarth.com and eventually in late 2017 the publication of my book Mermaids Of Earth about mermaid statues across the world.
