I am a mixed media, collage artist who has focused almost exclusively on fiber since 1997. I received my training as a painter at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. After graduation I made my living as a custom clothier while pursuing my own artwork. I am the author of “Fabric Surface Design,” a comprehensive book featuring over 80 surface design techniques for fabric using textile paints. Published in 2013 by Storey Publishing it was chosen by Jennifer Forker of the Associated Press as one of the top 15 craft books for 2013. Rezendes has worked as an elementary school art teacher, interior designer, and as an art columnist for a daily newspaper as well as recently writing for Stitch-It...Today, and Fiber Art Now - two quarterly magazines. Both my fine and wearable art have been exhibited in shops and galleries throughout the United States. I currently sell my hand dyed textiles, stencil designs and home decor items through my Etsy shop. My wall art, including my art quilts are represented by the Salmon Falls Gallery in Shelburne Falls, MA. I live in the woods of Western Massachusetts with my husband, two sons, two full size collies, a very ornery cat named Julian and an assortment of wild animals that pass by.
