Jane Riddell

Jane Riddell is the author of contemporary novels: Daughters of the Lake, Chergui’s Child and Things We Choose to Hide, all stories about secrets, betrayal and family dramas. Inspired by her own editing process, she has published a short guide entitled Words’Worth: a fiction writer’s guide to serious editing.

As JR Lili, she has written a novella about a Russian cat who comes to the UK to learn how to be a creative writer:The Bakhtin Chronicles: one cat's experience of academia. Under this name, she has also written: The Haven for Quirky Conditions.

Jane is a professional editor. If you are struggling with a report, article, dissertation, just about any form of writing, in fact, she can improve it for you. Much of her editing work has been with non-native English speakers.

In anther life, Jane worked as a dietitian and health promoter for the NHS in the UK. But after three years living in the beautiful Rhône Alps region of France, she decided to devote her mental energy to writing.

Jane lives in Edinburgh and apart from an abiding love of chocolate (the only vice she'll admit to), her passions include travelling and photography. She regularly looks after animals – mainly cats – all over Europe, which inspires her writing and indulges her photography. And also allows her to sample chocolate from different countries....
