Cynthia Orr

Cynthia Orr (Cindy) has over 30 years of experience in the areas of public library collection development, public service, technical services, management, and readers’ advisory service.

She is the former Collection Manager at Cleveland Public Library, and now consults with libraries and book industry companies, speaks frequently at library conferences, participates in American Library Association (ALA) committees, and teaches for Kent State University's Graduate School of Library and Information Science.

Cindy was awarded the 2004 ALA Margaret E. Monroe Award for service to adults, and currently edits The Reader’s Advisor Online Blog. She is the contributing editor for the monthly Library Journal Collection Development columns.
