Michael Roch

Michael Roch is a science fiction writer and scriptwriter born in 1987 in France.

His first fantastic and horrific short stories were published in various underground fanzines before joining Walrus Editions with two science fiction novels : Twelve and Mortal Derby X. He is noticed by his novel I, Peter Pan, at MU Editions (2017) selected by the Grand Prix de l'Imaginaire in 2018.

Since he returned to his native West Indies, in 2015, he has conducted several creative writing workshops on the theme of Afrofuturism – a literary movement developing afrocentred counter-dystopias – in prison and university environment. He is also a Storytelling instructor at the 3D Animation and Video Games school Parallel 14 and at the Ecole Supérieure de Journalisme of Lille. His latest novel, The Yellow Book, at the crossroads of Lovecraftian influences and the Astroblackness movement, is published by MU Editions (2019). In 2020, he joins the Fabrique of Rocambole Editions which republished Twelve and Mortal Derby X alongside a new series : Héritiers.

He is also the creator and director of the literature channel, La Brigade du Livre, on Youtube, bringing together a community of more than 35,000 subscribers. Along with Axolot and Le Fossoyeur de Films, he is part of the video label Pandora.
