Rosalind Guy

I'm Rosalind Guy, author of Skinny Dipping in the Pool of Womanhood. This is my first published book. I am currently at work on my next project, a novel which is tentatively titled Dessa.

The printed word has always been like oxygen to me. I'm always reading and love to discover new ways to experience words. If I'm not reading, I'm writing. Knowing how much I love to write, when I was trying to choose my major for college, I chose Journalism. I just couldn't imagine being able to live as an author, without having a day job.

After graduating from college, I became a business reporter at the Memphis Daily News. I worked there for several years, but I couldn't shake the desire to write the types of stories that really interested me. So, I began writing short stories again and took out some of my old novels and knocked the dust off them. Ever since then, I have been writing those things that interest me. One of those things, my baby, is Skinny Dipping. Skinny Dipping is a collection of poems about some of the most profound experiences women go through at different stages of their life. The poems show that most women don't just exist, we live, we immerse ourself in life, welcoming all the pleasures of life and all the pain. My day job is a high school English teacher at Wooddale High School. My students are another passion. But, my first passion has been and always will be the written word. Please stay tuned as I continue to share the beauty of words with you.

I previously had two stories published in Short Attention Span Stories by Kerlak Press. My Website is still in the works, but you can contact me by e-mail at rosguy31@yahoo.com.
