Texas born and bred, Holly Bebernitz moved to Jacksonville, Florida, with her parents in 1966. Brought up among mesquite trees and tumbleweeds, she still appreciates living in a city on a river, near the sea. After college and a year of traveling with a drama and music team, she returned home, married, had three children, and taught speech, English and later history on the secondary and college levels. Her debut novel, Trevorode the Defender, begun in 1998, remained unfinished until she retired from classroom teaching in 2010 to become a full-time grandmother. Published in 2013, Trevorode the Defender enjoyed a wide and varied audience and became Part I of the Magnolia Arms Chronicles. Part II, Road to Briarwood, followed in 2015. The story continued in Part III, Tea at Kimball Pines. In Part IV, The Moores, the Merriers, the author pays homage to her hometown, Jacksonville, by setting the first half of the story there.
