David B. Grant

Professor David B. Grant is Dean of Research and Societal Impact at Hanken School of Economics in Helsinki, Finland. A native of Canada, David came to the UK in 1998 to study for his PhD and has remained to enjoy being a part of the "Old World" that he studied in his youth. His PhD thesis investigated customer service, satisfaction and service quality in UK food processing logistics and he received the James Cooper Memorial Cup PhD Award from the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (UK) in 2003. David's research interests include inter alia customer service, satisfaction and service quality, retail logistics, and reverse and sustainable logistics. He has over 150 publications in various fora and has also written 12 books/monographs and 35 book chapters. Besides books on business and academia, David likes to read well-written fiction and non-fiction in the history, crime and social commentary genres, which often become known to him from his interest in reading works from the various countries he visits. Some of his favourite authors include Joseph Roth, David Foster Wallace, Orhan Pamuk, Ian Rankin and Henning Mankell.
