Capt Rick Abbott

My name is Rick Abbott I am presently living in Costa Rica and have been for the past 15 years. I am a 52 year old semi retired commercial crabber from Kodiak, AK. I walked away from the social distortion of the USA in an effort to get clarity on this grand journey we all share. In the process I wrote a book .....It was a tough job putting my memories down to paper but in the end I wanted my friends and family to a my story and reasons for leaving the great white North of Alaska for Central America ... I hope that my adventures as a commercial crabber entertain you as much as they did me. Alaska,The Northwest,Costa Rica, all part of the adventure....but the ocean will always be a special place for me as it was the place I discovered most about this journey we all share. I would like to dedicate this book to my 3 boys 2 in Alaska Rick and Brandon and 1 in Costa Rica Gunnar. I look forward to many more chapters on this ride.........

I few notes about the book....everything in the book is 100% factual except... I mention a woman in the book named Ilene Rosenthal she begged me to write her in as a Oracle ...this is the only untruth in the book ....kind of a plug to a desperate old woman who ended up being a kind of snake oil sales woman/con artist who has teamed up with a American side kick named Jimmy to rob elderly woman in the area where I reside in Costa Rica......so this will serve as a correction to her plug until I edit her out of the book.....
