C. A. Shilton

Born in the Midlands of England, Anne spent 22 years working as a police officer, undertaking both uniformed operational and plain-clothes specialist duties. She also worked as a trainer, training consultant and training evaluator. Despite a life-long interest in writing, the demands of the police service meant that for many years, writing remained just a fascinating hobby. But leaving the service and its commitments finally freed up the time to fully indulge that interest. 'Barricades' is the result.

She now lives on the Norfolk coast, together with her slightly manic cocker spaniel. Hobbies include travel, dog walking, theatre, sketching and 'wining and dining.' She also enjoys swimming, and on a very warm summer's day has even been known to brave the North Sea.

Anne holds a B.A. with the Open University and has also been awarded the Certificate in Creative Writing by East Anglia University.
