Amanda Erin Miller is an NYC-based theater artist, comedian, and writer. She premiered her newest solo show, Camp Smile Power: Curing Anger One Smile at a Time, as part of the People’s Improv Theater’s SOLOCOM Festival in Nov. 2015, for which she was featured in Time Out New York. Amanda strives to create theatrical works that feature interactive elements, inviting the audience to achieve catharsis in an experiential way and not just as spectators. Camp Smile Power marks her fourth solo show and her second time performing in SOLOCOM. Other solo shows include Into the Woods: Solo and Highly Abridged, Edith Shlivovitz: 85 & Still Alive, and One Breath, Then Another: An Interactive Yoga Show. She has performed One Breath, Then Another: An Interactive Yoga Show at the San Francisco Fringe Festival, PortFringe, Rochester Fringe, San Diego’s School of Healing Arts, Manhattan Repertory Theatre, Theater for the New City’s Dream Up Festival, Dixon Place, and Third Root Community Health Center. One Breath, Then Another began as a memoir, excerpts from which have been featured in Freerange Nonfiction, Underwired Magazine, Om Times, Love Your Rebellion, Runaway Parade’s print anthology and So Long: Short Memoirs of Loss and Remembrance, a memoir anthology. Amanda created the two person play, Please Don’t Let Me Die Alone with her collaborator Shawn Shafner, which they performed four years in a row near Valentine’s Day at The Tank, The Magnet Theater, and The People’s Improv Theater. Amanda hosts the bimonthly series Lyrics, Lit & Liquor at HiFi Bar in the East Village and the weekly Personality Disorder Character Jam at The People’s Improv Theater.
