Holly Bailey-Hofmann has a B.A. in English from St. Mary’s College of Maryland, where she studied poetry with Lucille Clifton. She earned her M.A. in English from the University of Cincinnati and specializes in language, linguistics, and learning strategies. Once her high school’s graduating Latin scholar, she enjoys teaching students effective techniques for memorization, learning, and test-taking. Though she teaches the full sequence of classes in the English sequence, in recent years she has focused her efforts and research on the challenge of increasing student retention and matriculation in basic skills English classes. This led her to develop a campus-wide student poster fair to motivate and empower students. She has been teaching at the college level since the age of 22.
