LOUIS LAMBERT was born in Champaign, Illinois December 7, 1954. As a freshman at Appleton City, Missouri High School he received a creative writing assignment. He went directly to his father for instruction on how to write a proper story. His father took the assignment and wrote a wonderful story, which Louis turned in. His teacher read it and declared that he never could have written such a good story and threw it out, adding that he never would be able to write so well. From that point forward Lambert became interested in writing (and proving this teacher wrong). His poetry and short stories have been published and his plays have received accolades. He has written for several periodicals, typically in a humorous or ironic vein. Currently he is working on several projects, including the third book of the "Adventures in the Vortex" series, ("Adventures in the Vortex" and "The Third Crystal"), with his wife and co-author Lane Lambert. His writing motto is, "Better to carve the block than fill the mold".
