Bob Buchanan was born in West Virginia but raised and educated in Chicago, Illinois. His first career choice was frying hamburgers at White Castle, but learned within a couple years that wasn't the direction he wanted to go with his life. Buchanan has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Sociology (Does the double major mean he was an over-achiever or still not clear on his future?) a Master of Arts in Urban Ministry, a second Master of Arts in Counseling and a Doctorate in Theology.
Buchanan has two children and three grandchildren. He currently lives with his husband (married in Canada since North Carolina wouldn't let them) of over 15 years in Durham, NC. They have recently added a rescue greyhound named Arrow to the family.
Buchanan has ghost wtitten nine books, most are devotional or theology books. He has written Love, Honor, and Respect, a work dealing with homosexuality and Christianity published in 2000.
He has now wandered into the world of fiction, with a gay fiction title called, Redemption. Like most good fiction it includes pieces of various people including himself among the characters.
Redemption is the story of a first-year seminary student in Chicago named Rick who comes to terms with being gay. Two people come into his life that challenge what he has believed all his life.
