Joel D. Irish

Joel D. Irish obtained his B.S. and M.S. in anthropology from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and Ph.D. in biological anthropology from Arizona State University. He was professor of biological anthropology at the University of Alaska in Fairbanks from 1998-2012, and was anthropology department chair from 2007-2012. Irish is currently a professor in the Research Centre in Evolutionary Anthropology and Palaeoecology at Liverpool John Moores University. He has three co-edited volumes, including two in the Cambridge University Press CSBEA series. Irish was also associate editor of the American Journal of Physical Anthropology, and has >60 professional publications, with an emphasis on bioarchaeology and dental anthropology.
