Andrew Jordan

I am Professor of Environmental Policy at the University of East Anglia, and a Research Fellow at the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research. My research seeks to understand how policy emerges and performs in multi-levelled or polycentric systems such as the European Union.

I have published extensively on these topics and in 2017-8 was named a Web of Science Highly Cited Researcher, one of only 180 social scientists in the world. My most recent monograph – Durability by Design? Policy Feedback in a Changing Climate – was published by Cambridge University Press in 2020.

In 2023 I co-edited Handbook on EU Climate Change Policy and Politics (Edward Elgar, open access).

I currently co-chair Brexit&Environment, a policy facing academic network funded by the UK’s ESRC.

I was elected a Fellow of British Academy in 2022.
